In what looks like some sort of a publicity stunt from Ford Malaysia, Carscoop reader Hafiz Zainal filmed the brand new Ford Ranger tugging four rivaling pickup trucks including (from back to front) the previous generation of the Ranger, the Mitsubishi Triton (called L200 in Europe), the Toyota HiLux and an Isuzu D-Max.

Both Rangers had an “On Tow” sign at the front and at the back and seemed to be just riding around – obviously to pique the interest of local buyers.

The next generation of the not-for-the U.S. Ford Ranger pickup truck is launching with a choice of two new common rail Duratorq TDCi diesels, a 2.2-liter four-cylinder unit with 150HP and 375Nm (277 lb-ft), and a 3.2-liter inline-five delivering at 200HP and 470Nm (347 lb-ft). Transmission choices include six-speed automatic and manual gearboxes.

Hat tip to Hafiz!
