The more mature 2013 Acura RDX crossover that was revealed alongside the new ILX compact sedan at the Chicago Auto Show earlier this month will go on sale in the U.S. this spring with a manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) starting at $34,320, which does not include a destination charge of $885 (*) that puts the total to $35,205.
The second generation of the RDX swaps the previous model’s 240HP turbocharged four-cylinder engine for a more potent 3.5-liter V6 rated at 273-horses, matched to a new 6-speed automatic transmission and an available new all-wheel-drive system that costs $1,400 extra.
According to the Japanese company, the FWD model returns 20mpg city, 28mpg highway and 23mpg combined while the respective figures for the AWD version are 19mpg, 27mpg and 22mpg.
Standard features across the range include new technologies such as the Pandora internet radio interface, an SMS text messaging function, a Keyless Access System with pushbutton start, an Active Noise Control system and a rear view camera system with three unique viewing angles.
Acura said it would also offer a $3,700 Technology Package that includes an array of items such as the AcuraLink Satellite Communication System, a navigation system with voice recognition, a hard disk drive (HDD) with 60GB, dual-zone automatic climate control system, a power tailgate, bi-xenon lights and more.
