At first we had the M brand for BMW‘s thoroughbred sports cars, then came the M Sport Packages, which add styling and suspension upgrades to the firm’s mainstream vehicles.
More recently, the Bavarians launched the M Performance sub-brand that offers exclusive engine variants, enhanced handling and bespoke styling treats at a lower cost than the pure M models. You see the pattern, right?
So the next step for BMW is the introduction of the M Performance Parts, that will launch in spring 2012.
“The BMW M Performance products are driven by the dynamic power of innovation and were developed with the goal of creating an individual racing car character. The result is a motorsport sensation, which quickly raises the adrenalin level and provides maximum driving pleasure,” the company said on its website.
What this means is that the M Performance Parts will be more aggressive than the products offered through BMW’s M Sport Packages. BMW released a teaser video of the new 1-Series hatchback fitted with M Performance Parts to give us an idea of what to expect from the brand. Among other accessories and parts seen on the car are bespoke alloy rims, brakes, spoilers and sports seats, steering wheels and gear shifters.
