The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has announced several recalls in the first week of February.

Starting with Toyota, the Japanese carmaker has issued a recall on a total of 427 RAV4 vehicles manufactured from November 24, 2011, through December 19, 2011, because the curtain shield airbags may not deploy. Toyota said it would check the RAV4s and if necessary, replace the assemblies. The safety recall is expected to begin in early March.

Next up is Honda, which is recalling 347 Accord and Crosstours from the 2012MY and 206 Ridgelines from the 2011-2012MY for separate reasons.

The 2012MY Accord and Crosstour are being recalled over a potentially faulty side curtain airbag that may not open during a crash.

The reason why Honda is recalling the 2011-2012MY Ridgeline is that the spare tire installed in affected vehicles may not match the information on the vehicle’s tire information placard. Honda said it would begin notifying owners of all affected models on February 10.

Ford is recalling 13,239 units of its 2011MY F-53 stripped chassis vehicles built from February 1, 2010 through July 1, 2011 and certain model year 2012MY F-53 and F-59 stripped chassis vehicles manufactured from May 10, 2011 through October 25, 2011, because the ‘PRNDL’ cable may break and not show the gear selection on the dashboard display. This safety recall is expected to begin in March.

Finally, we have a recall of 1,768 Maserati GranTurismo coupes and convertibles manufactured from June 2008 to March 2010 over a defective tail lamp assembly. The Italian company said it will notify owners for a fix later this month.
