Honda has releases the first photos of the CR-V Prototype (nee production-ready), which previews the European version of the crossover model and which will be displayed at the company’s Geneva Motor Show stand.

The fourth generation of the Japanese manufacturer’s compact SUV, which has already gone on sale in North America, Japan and other parts of the world, won’t be available in Europe until the coming autumn.

Unsurprisingly, it looks identical to its North American twin save for a couple of details, like the mesh surround of the front fog lights and the “fin” antenna instead of the U.S. car’s conventional unit.

In the U.S, the CR-V is powered by a 2.4-liter V-TEC four cylinder gasoline engine producing 185 HP that comes paired to a five-speed auto gearbox and is available in both front- and all-wheel drive versions.

Honda has not yet revealed specs of the European version though we expect the company’s new 118-horsepower 1.6-liter turbo diesel to be among the choices offered.
