With the market launch of the new F30 3-Series sedan well underway, there’s no point of BMW overdoing it with the camouflage on the soon to be revealed Touring variant, a prototype of which was caught by our scoopers while testing in Europe.
These photos afford us our best view yet of the new 3-Series Touring that follows the practice of its predecessors choosing style over substance.
That doesn’t mean you won’t find a little more cargo room at the back which can be accessed easier thanks to the tailgate, but don’t expect it to be a load-lugger in the traditional sense.
Other than that, it’s business as usual with the entire engine lineup mimicking that of the sedan model with a wide choice of turbocharged four-cylinder petrol and gasoline units topped by a the force-fed 3.0-liter inline-six in the 335i.
Buyers will also be able to choose between rear-wheel drive only and four wheel drive models, depending on the powerplant.
Rumor has it that BMW is contemplating the launch of the 3-Series Touring in the States, but this has not been officially confirmed.
