The Scout moniker is for Skoda what the Allroad nameplate is for Audi. In other words, it is used to describe the mildly tweaked “faux off-road” versions of Skoda’s regular passenger models.
With the exception of the Yeti, which is a crossover anyway, the only other model in Skoda’s current range (the Citigo won’t launch before May) that does not include a Scout version is the flagship Superb.
But that’s about to change as the Czech manufacturer was spied out in the open testing a Scout version of the roomy Superb Combi.
Like the other Scout models in Skoda’s range, the Superb gains a slightly more rugged-look thanks to the jacked-up suspension and a styling kit that includes new front and rear bumpers with protective cladding, chunky wheel arch extensions with matching side skirts and roof rails.
It’s only logical to assume that the Superb Scout will be offered with standard all-wheel drive, though we’ll have to wait and see about the engine range but it’s almost certain that it will include the 2.0 TDI.
