The seventh generation of the Volkswagen Golf is on its way with the world premiere planned for the Paris Auto Show in the fall of this year. But you already know about that.
Chances are you are also aware about the fact that it will be the second VW Group model after the upcoming Audi A3 to make use of the company’s highly flexible and more lightweight or MQB platform, as well as a new version of the 1.4-liter TSI petrol engine with a cylinder deactivation system to further improve fuel economy and CO2 emissions.
And while we’ve no doubt told you that it will launch with a number of different body styles, up until now, we had only shown you prototypes of the production five-door hatchback model.
Enter today’s scoop pictures that afford us our first camo’d look at the three door model.
In typical Golf fashion, the three-door model is just what the name implies it to be; a less practical version of the five-door Golf without any design differences. However, to be fair, that was to be expected as Volkswagen has decided to give the role of the Astra GTC and Renault Megane Coupe hunter to its Scirocco model.
Over the next couple of years, the Golf’s range will be enhanced with the addition of a Cabriolet model, an MPV and a station wagon.
