Good news for the local economy at Jaguar-Land Rover’s (JLR) Halewood Operations manufacturing plant, which is located near Liverpool in the UK, as the Tata Motors owned automaker is creating 1,000 new jobs to support the increase of production for the Range Rover Evoque and Land Rover Freelander 2 models.
With this latest move, JLR has tripled the number of employees at Halewood, from around 1,500 just three years ago to close to 4,500 workers today.
“These 1,000 new jobs are further evidence of JLR’s clear ambition for continued growth. We are moving Halewood to three shifts and 24-hour operation to meet increased global demand for our products,” commented Jaguar-Land Rover HR Director, Des Thurlby.
The British firm’s HR boss added that JLR’s supply chain is also set to benefit from the move as he expects that “thousands more jobs” will be created.
JLR has already begun the process of recruiting new employees at Halewood Operations. Those interested can visit www.jaguarlandrovercareers.com/halewood for more information.
