We have known for a while now that Lamborghini plans to blow the covers off a new SUV concept at the Auto China 2012 in Beijing, and today, the Italian automaker sent out an official invitation to the motor show that includes an outline of the crossover model’s profile.
The unveiling of the company’s first SUV since the demise of the hardcore LM002 in 1993 will take place over the weekend.
Just last week, Lamborghini’s CEO Stephan Winkelmann said that if the response on the as-of-yet-unnamed SUV is positive, the company could complete its development and have it on the market as early as 2017.
The Italian SUV will share a platform and select hardware with the next Audi Q7, VW Touareg, Porsche Cayenne as well as Bentley’s production version of the not-so-well received, EXP 9 F study.
