After last year’s presentation, the 2012 Infiniti FX is now available for order across Europe. In the UK, prices remain unchanged, starting from £46,750 for the V6 model and rising to £58,250 for the V8 variant.
Key styling enhancements for the 2012 model include the adoption of Infiniti’s signature pinched front grille, a reprofiled front bumper with chrome elements, new alloy wheel designs, a revised meter illumination and a fresh assortment of exterior colors.
“Buyers love the way the FX looks and they love the way it drives so the last thing we are going to do is make changes for change’s sake,” said Bernard Loire, Infiniti Vice President for Europe and Middle East. “What we have done instead is focus on reinforcing FX DNA,” he added.
The FX is offered with three engines. These include a 3.7-litre petrol V6 with 316bhp (320PS) for the FX37, a 3.0-litre V6 diesel delivering 235bhp (238PS) and 550Nm of torque while returning 31.4mpg UK (26.1mpg US or 9.0lt/100km) on the combined cycle for the FX30d, and the 385bhp (390PS) 5.0-litre V8 of the FX50 performance flagship.
There are two grades, GT Premium and S Premium, with the latter adding Rear Active Steering (except FX37), Continuous Damping Control, 21-inch alloy wheels, smoked headlights, red S badging and dark chrome exterior air vent and sill strip.
In addition to the regular models, Infiniti is already accepting pre-orders for the FX Vettel Version, though only 200 examples of the 414hp (420PS) V8 models will be available worldwide, with first customer deliveries due in 2013.
