Toyota has officially opened the order books for its new Prius+ in the UK ahead of the minivan’s market launch on 9 July. There are two available equipment grades, the base T4 that is priced at £26,195 and the T Spirit that costs £29,495.
While it’s based on the North American market five-seat Prius V, the European Prius+ features an additional third row of child-sized seats and a more efficient and compact set of lithium ion batteries that are positioned within the center console.
If all seats are used, then there’s 200 litres of luggage space, while with the third row stowed, this figure rises to 505 litres.
According to Toyota, the Prius+ in T4 trim produces 96g/km of CO2 and returns a fuel economy of 68.9mpg UK (57.4mpg US or 4.1lt/100km), while the T Spirit is rated at 100g/km and 64.2mpg UK (53.5mpg US or 4.4lt/100km) respectively.
Among other features, the base T4 gets 16-inch alloy wheels, rear view camera, a head-up display, LED daytime running lights, automatic air-conditioning and an audio system fitted as standard, while the T Spirit adds 17-inch wheels, a sat-nav, a higher end audio system from JBL and leather seats.
