A new marketing effort from Chrysler will see the brand’s “Imported from Detroit” slogan briefly changing to “Imported from Gotham City” as part of a promotional campaign with Warner Bros. Pictures and its upcoming film, “The Dark Knight Rises”.

On Friday, the automaker launched the “Imported from Gotham City” contest in which participants are asked to create an original co-branded TV spot featuring the Chrysler brand and the Dark Knight by utilizing a collection of assets, including Chrysler 300 car footage, film footage and music stems from the official trailer.

Christopher Nolan, the director, writer and producer of the Batman movie, will choose the winning spot, which will debut on television around the release of the film on July 20.

The lucky winner will collect an all-expenses paid trip to Hollywood to finish the spot alongside a professional editor before heading to New York City for the red carpet premiere screening of “The Dark Knight Rises” on Monday, July 16.

Besides the contest spot, Chrysler will air its own 30-second, co-branded television spot titled “Imported from Gotham City” featuring the 300 sedan, on June 19.

“The 2012 Chrysler 300 featured in this marketing and advertising campaign was created intentionally to look as if it could be driven on the streets and fit in to the nightlife of Gotham City; it’s clearly a vehicle that stands out and makes one take notice,” said Chrysler brand boss, Saad Chehab.
