Visitors to the UK’s Goodwood Festival of Speed (FoS) from June 28 to July 1 will have the chance to see a development prototype of Jaguar’s upcoming sports car, the F-Type for the very first time.

The roadster model will not only be making its public debut at the event but will also be driven up the famous Goodwood hill climb by Jaguar’s Head of Vehicle Integrity, Mike Cross.

“Goodwood Festival of Speed is focused around the dynamic hill runs where the public can see, hear and smell the cars – this is why we have chosen it as the place to showcase an F-TYPE prototype,” says Adrian Hallmark, Global Brand Director of Jaguar Cars.

He continued: “The development programme is progressing with vigour and we look forward to showing the world the F-TYPE in production form later this year.”

Currently, Jaguar is working on two engine variants for the F-Type, including a 3.0-liter supercharged V6 with 375hp (380PS) and 460Nm (339 lb-ft) for the base model and a 5.0-liter supercharged V8 producing over 500 ponies for the flagship R variant.

The new F-Type will likely be revealed at the Paris Motor Show in September or at the LA Auto Show in November before it goes on sale worldwide next spring.
