An extended wheelbase, pickup truck conversion of a Mercedes-Benz G-Class is something you expect to see in the land of infinite highways and not in the land of chocolate, beer and streets so tiny that a Toyota/Scion iQ is used to collect imagery from streets that were too narrow for Google’s regular camera cars…
Named the Mercedes-Benz G500 “Lang” Pickup Truck, the vehicle was hand built in Belgium to the current owner’s specifications.
It is based on a 2002 G-Class, with the SUV’s wheelbase extended by 800mm to 3,650mm (143.7 inches). Most of the extra length seems to benefit the pickup truck bed at the back, which also features a retractable hard tonneau cover.
The owner says that the pickup truck has only been driven 4,800 km (less than 3,000 miles) since its conversion, and has around 38,000km (~23,600 miles) on the odometer.
The Mercedes-Benz G500 “Lang” Pickup Truck is listed for sale in Belgium at a price of €47,599 (US$59,710).
