Since we have at least three months ahead of us before the first examples of the revised and renamed to the 2013 SLS AMG GT series begin arriving in Mercedes-Benz dealerships worldwide, the German automaker is trying to tempt Japanese buyers to opt for the current model with the presentation of a new special edition version named “Matt”.

To be more precise, there are three SLS AMG Matt editions including a matte black Roadster with red accents throughout the exterior and a red and black two-tone interior.

This model is priced at 30 million Yen (US$379,000 / €303,500).

The other two “Matt” editions are based on the Roadster and the Coupe and feature a matte black exterior paintwork with matte black and white accents on the grille, alloy wheels, mirrors, fuel cap and fins, and a matching color interior.

The SLS AMG Coupe Matt in white costs 29 million Yen (US$366,400 / €293,500), while its Roadster sibling, 30 million Yen (US$379,000 / €303,500).

Regardless of the exterior and interior colors, all Matt editions get the same standard specification including the AMG RIDE CONTROL sports suspension, leather and Alcantara steering wheel, 19-inch wheels up front and 20-inch wheels at the back, and bespoke floor mats.

We’ll remind you that Mercedes-Benz also launched a special edition version of the C63 AMG Sedan in Japan, more details of which, you can see and read here.
