Even though Aston Martin practically revealed the next DBS at last week’s Concorso d’Eleganza vintage and concept car show in Italy with the AM310 Design Concept, up until now, we were in the dark about the production model’s final name.

That’s no more because Car Magazine was somehow at the right place at the right time when one of Aston Martin’s trailers carrying the production model was left unsupervised for a few seconds, which was more than enough time to film the badge at the rear end of the car.

As you can see for yourself, the next or rather the redesigned DBS, will bring back to life the Vanquish moniker, which was last used on the DBS’ V12-powered predecessor, built from 2001 to 2007.

As a quick refresher, the new Vanquish will make use of a tweaked version of the current DBS’ VH platform and 6.0-liter V12 engine, covered in a newer body with styling influences from the One-77.
