Our previous video find of a mid-1980s Ferrari Testarossa Spider prompted Carscoop reader Felix S. to send us this rare find of a 1994 512 TR Spider (or Spyder) with only 50 kilometers or about 31 miles on the odometer.
The 512 TR was a re-engineered and subtly facelifted version of the original Testarossa that came into the market in 1991 before Ferrari released the final model of the series, the F512M in 1994.
As mentioned in our other post, to our knowledge, the only official roadster version of the Testarossa/ 512 TR/ F512M series is a silver colored Testarossa Spider built by Pininfarina for Gianni Agnelli, the head of the Fiat Group at the time.
There is not much info on the history of this 1994 Ferrari 512 TR Spider other than a claim from the seller that it was “ordered new by us from Ferrari and held unused in our private collection since brand new”.
The open-top Ferrari model is said to be located in New Zealand and is offered for sale for a hefty $950,000 (€758,000). Evidently, anyone willing to entertain such a high price will have to do a bit of homework on the car’s history and how it came to be a Spider before heading to the bank.
