It’s a busy time for the engineers and designers at BMW as the Bavarian premium carmaker has plenty of new cars under development, including the 2014 M3 Coupe or M4, the next X5 SUV and a new addition to the range, the 3-Series Gran Turismo, all of which were filmed in and around the Nürburgring in Germany.
We’ll start with the next iteration of the M3 Coupe that may be christened M4, the first spy pictures of which we showed you earlier this week.
The high-performance version of the 3-Series Coupe will adopt a smaller, but more powerful thanks to a turbocharging system, 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine pushing out around 450-horses to the rear wheels.
Moving on to the new X5, the third generation of the luxury SUV codenamed F15 will arrive in late 2013 or early 2014 sporting a similar design to the current model but a lighter body and underpinnings to help improve its fuel economy and handling.
As for BMW’s answer to the Audi A5 Sportback, the new 3-Series Gran Turismo or 3GT for short, is a five-door liftback version of the current 3-Series sedan with a less polarizing design than the 5 GT. It will be offered with the same powertrain lineup as the sedan and touring models (depending on the market).
We expect the 3GT to make its world premiere before the end of this year.
