You know Mazda is trying to make a point about it’s next Mazda6 when it drops a short teaser clip entitled “All-New Mazda6, not TAKERI”…
But just to make sure we all get it, Mazda adds: “This is not the TAKERI concept car, it is the first glimpse of the all-new Mazda6 and the similarities are definitely intentional.”
Our recent spy pictures of a prototype model of the new Mazda6 Estate had already confirmed the styling direction and how close the series is to last year’s Takeri concept car, but this video gives us a better view of the mid-size model’s front end.
“The deeply sculpted face with sharp eyes gazing forward, defined by the chrome ‘signature wing’, instantly conveys to onlookers that this must be Mazda’s new flagship sedan”, explains Akira Tamatani, Chief Designer of the new Mazda6.
Mazda’s rival to the Honda Accord, Hyundai Sonata and Ford Mondeo / Fusion will make its world premiere at the Paris Motor Show this fall with sales to follow next year. In the U.S. it will launch sometime in 2013 as a 2014 model.
