We have already told you that next year’s Seat Leon 3-door hatchback will draw heavily on the 2010 IBE Concept, but artist Khalil Bouguerra wanted to give us a preview of the sporty compact model with a realistic rendering.
The CGI mixes styling cues from the study and the new five-door Leon that will receive its world premiere at the Paris Auto Show this September.
The first ever three-door version of the Leon series will have a coupe-feel to its design with a sweeping roofline (perhaps even more than what Bouguerra’s rendering suggests) bringing the car closer to the VW Scirocco and the Opel / Vauxhall Astra GTC than the VW Golf 3d.
Engines options will of course mirror those of the 5-door model with plenty of diesel and petrol units to choose from, while there will also be a range-topping Cupra R model, likely powered by the VW Group’s 2.0-liter TSI turbocharged inline-four delivering 261hp (265PS).
In addition to the Leon 3d, Seat is also planning a station wagon variant, possibly with the Sports Tourer (ST) moniker.
