We are not exactly sure how one of our commentators concluded that “When you lead with ‘goes for a spin on the Ring’ It leads one to believe a video is available” in regards to our previous spy story on the Porsche 918 Spyder, but nevertheless, we’ll try to satisfy his request with two freshly shot videos from the Nürburgring Nordschleife.
If we’re not hugely mistaken, this is the first time we’ve heard the pre-production prototype of the upcoming Porsche 918 Spyder in action.
The sounds you hear in the video come courtesy of a plug-in hybrid driveline that mixes a 570PS (+562hp) 4.6-liter V8 petrol linked to a 7-speed dual clutch transmission with two electric motors for a combined output in excess of 770PS (+762hp).
Porsche says that its top sports car is capable of completing the 0-100km/h (62mph) sprint in less than 3 seconds (Carrera GT: 3.9 seconds) and turning the Nordschleife in just under than 7:22 minutes (Carrera GT: 7:32 minutes).
Head past the jumps to watch the two videos from the ‘Ring.
