Renault tuning specialist K-Tec Racing has prepared a new performance package for owners of the hottest version of the RenaultSport (RS) Megane, the 265 Trophy, the main component of which is a software upgrade for the compact model’s 2.0-liter turbocharged engine.
The British tuner’s reflash of the ECU along with the use of a performance panel element for greater flow capacity and filtration qualities over the standard air filter, help increase output by up to 40-horsepower at 6,000 rpm for a total count of up to 301bhp (305PS) as well as an extra 60 lb-ft of torque at 2750 rpm.
K-Tec Racing says that while no performance data is available yet, it expects an improvement on the standard car’s 0-60mph (96km/h) 6.0 second and 158 mph (254 km/h) top speed figures.
The Performance Pack 1 is priced at just £414 (US$648 / €525) including installation, rolling road testing and VAT, while the company also offers a £234 (US$366 / €297) ‘Renflash’ ECU remapping tool, which allows users to store their standard ECU file on a plug and play handset enabling them to switch between factory and performance settings.
