No one really needs to tell you the dangers of participating in the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb but if you insist, here’s proof from a terrifying accident that was captured on film during this weekend’s race.
Rookie Pikes Peak driver Jeremy Foley and his co-pilot Yuri Kouznetsov were racing their Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution 8 down the hill at around Mile 16 when they took a corner too fast and too open with the car sliding on the gravel before it tumbled down the mountain.
According to a news report from KRDO, Foley had a broken leg while Kouznetsov was not hurt, though the news agency noted that this was not confirmed.
