The expansion of the Fiat 500 series in Britain after the recent additions of the sporty Abarth 595 Turismo and 595 Competizione models continues this month with the launch of a new range called ‘Colour Therapy’.
The new trim level is positioned between 500 Pop and Lounge specifications and according to Fiat, it was designed to “bring back the spirit of the 1970s with a collection of vibrant colours and retro white detailing”.
The Colour Therapy edition is available in both hatchback and convertible (fitted with a canvas top that rolls back) body styles, with two petrol engine choices, a 0.9-litre TwinAir and a 1.2-litre, and five bespoke exterior colours named New Age Cream, Countrypolitan Yellow, Pasodoble Red, Volare Blue, and Tech House Grey.
Aside from the solid paint finishes that hark back to the ’70s, other distinguishable details include white door mirror covers and wheel surrounds, a ‘poolball’ design gear knob in matching colour and a specific key cover.
The Italian carmaker says that the 500 Colour Therapy costs £800 more than the entry-level Pop, but adds more than £1000 worth of extra equipment.
UK prices start at at £10,760 (OTR) for the 1.2 Colour Therapy, rising to £14,510 (OTR) for the 500C 0.9-litre Colour Therapy TwinAir.
