According to a recent report from Autosport, indications suggest that the ever-wealthy race enthusiasts at Red Bull will be taking over the sponsorship of the World Rally Championship (WRC) in the very near future.

When termination of the sponsorship contract by former promoters North One Sport occurred, FIA, the WRC ‘s governing body, began a frantic search for a new main sponsor for the championship series.

After an unsuccessful bout with Converse Sports Initiatives when then owner Vladimir Antonov was suspected of fraud, the company collapsed and the FIA was thrown into even more of a frenzy opening up contracts to find the sports newest sponsorship.

In the new contract, the FIA narrowed down three possible candidates, Red Bull Media House, of course, being one of them, and the other two, a South African partnership deal and Eurosport.

Right now, all reports indicate that the Red Bull company will win control of the contract and take over main sponsorship of the ailing World Rally Championship for the next few years.
