It was only back in June when we saw the 1,000 wheel-horsepower R1KX Nissan GT-R by Switzer make its initial debut as an “everyday” driver.
More recently, an all-new R1KX draped in a candy apple paint job completed an impressive 8.97 second, 163 mph (262km/h) quarter mile run at Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk, Ohio.
This 8+ second GT-R prepared by Switzer Performance is nicknamed by its owner “the Red Katana,” and is one of the company’s first R1KX examples to hit the drag strip.
This fully customized GT-R comes with a quilted leather-lined interior complete with carbon fiber accents and alcantara, along with an all-new high-end audio system.
After full customization by Switzer, the R35 GT-R tipped the scales with nearly 300 lbs (136 kg) extra load than the standard model, thus “forcing” Switzer to tune the standard twin-turbo V6 to a menacing 1,500bhp.
Switzer says that in the next few days full specifications along with a more comprehensive photo gallery will be made public.
