Sebastian Vettel’s daily job is driving Formula 1 cars for Red Bull Racing every other weekend. Sure, he gets to do a lot of testing and the necessary promotional work for the sponsors, shaking hands and rubbing shoulders at glamorous events. Nevertheless, his job is to win F1 races and as his two back-to-back titles prove that he is quite good at it.
The 25-year German recently took part in a music video. No, he didn’t take up singing and he sure as hell didn’t take on a second job – he doesn’t need to. As an Infiniti Global Ambassador (sic), Vettel participated in double Grammy-winning, and Jay-Z protégé, Melanie Fiona’s “Watch me Work” music video.
In the video, Vettel plays “a modern James Dean character” (ed: no comments…) searching for an underground location for Fiona and her band’s performance.
Naturally, he doesn’t do it on foot: he drives a red Infiniti G37 Convertible. Mission accomplished, he disappears into the Manhattan sunrise driving the G37.
“It was a great experience to shoot a music video, and certainly very different to what I’m used to”, said Vettel. “But music is without question an inspiration to many and I’m very proud to have been part of this. I think the lyrics are quite fitting to what we can all do if we put our mind to it.”
At least Seb was able to do his own driving and Fiona said that she was excited “to be driven by an F1 World Champion”.
You can watch the music video as well as a behind-the-scenes featurette right after the jump.
