Following the release of new photos of the Mazda6 Wagon last night, the Japanese automaker has now confirmed the engine lineup for the European market versions of the mid-size model ahead of its premiere at this month’s Paris Motor Show.
When sales of the Mazda6 begin in Europe later this year, the sedan and wagon variants will be available with the brand’s new SKYACTIV-D 2.2-liter turbo diesel engine in either Standard Power or High Power versions rated at 150hp and 175hp respectively.
It’s worth mentioning that the new diesel unit complies with Euro6 emissions regulation.
Mazda will also offer a pair of SKYACTIV-G four-cylinder gasoline engines that were announced during the sedan’s world debut at the Moscow Auto Salon. These include a 2.0-liter unit producing 148hp (150PS) and a larger displacement 2.5-liter four-banger with 189hp (192PS).
The carmaker has not said with which engines the Mazda6 Sedan will be offered in North America where it will go on sale early next year. As for the Wagon, it is not likely to be offered on this side of the Atlantic.
