Ladies and gentlemen, this could be it: the production version of the much-talked about Jaguar F-Type has likely received an early reveal thanks to a Facebook posting from automotive spy photographer Chris Doane.

While not 100 percent sure, we think that the image does seem like the real deal, in which case, the new British roadster is what we hoped it would look like when we first saw the C-X16 Coupe Concept model during its world premiere at last year’s Frankfurt Motor Show.

If the picture is genuine, then Jaguar didn’t disappoint as it has remained true to the concept’s styling, right up to the double air-vents on either side of the front grille.

The roadster model pictured here will be followed in about a year’s time by a coupe variant modeled after the design study.

Jaguar has already revealed that the two-seater roadster will launch next spring with a choice of three gasoline engines including 375hp (380PS) and 335hp (340PS) versions of the new 3.0-litre supercharged V6, and a new derivative of the existing supercharged 5.0-litre V8 for the flagship ‘R’ model.

A company official has said that while all models will be offered at launch with an eight-speed automatic equipped with Stop/Start technology, a manual gearbox will be introduced at a later stage.

The F-Type will make its first public appearance at this month’s Paris Auto Show.
