Peugeot has decided to offer a production version of the opulent 208 XY Concept first seen at the Geneva Motor Show this past March. The new 208 XY will join the performance 208 GTi at the French firm’s 2012 Paris Motor Show stand at the end of this month.
The 208 XY is all about style and plush features. Besides the new “Purple Night” metallic finish used on the display model, the 208 XY will be available in five additional exterior colors.
Unique exterior features include the chromed grille, mirror caps, window trim, fog lamp surrounds, and rear apron trim, along with the 17-inch diamond-Anthra Mercure multi-spoke wheels. As an option, Peugeot will offer special decals for the roof.
Inside, the French brand has covered several surfaces in leather with contrast stitching that matches the exterior shade, including parts of the seats, the arms on the doors, the middle section of the dashboard, the steering wheel and gear shifter. The center parts of the sport seats are dressed in padded Alcantara. Aluminum pedals and special mats are also part of the package.
Peugeot says it offers several personalization options for the cabin ranging from a full leather treatment to aluminum trims for the dashboard, center console and door handles.
The XY boasts a variety of features ranging from a panoramic glass roof with ambiance backlighting to an infotainment system with a 7-inch touch screen display that includes navigation, and an automatic parking assist system that can parallel park the car by itself.
