A Cincinnati, Ohio-based dealership has listed two rare, if not unique since neither was officially imported in the United States, BMW models, including a 1989 M3 Convertible and a 1993 M5 Touring, but you better be willing to dig deep into your wallet if you are interested.
According to the Enthusiast Auto Group dealer, both cars were imported to the States from Europe and are said to be fully street legal.
We will start our tour with the E30 M3 Convertible, of which only 786 are believed to have been produced from mid-1988 to mid-1991.
This example is from 1989 and it is powered by a 2.3-liter naturally-aspirated inline four, though we’re not sure if it’s in non-catalyst (197HP /200PS) or catalyst (192HP / 195PS) form.
The mileage on the red-colored soft top is 66,980 (107,770 kilometers) while the price is listed at a hefty $65,990 (€52,400).
The next car is the first ever BMW M5 Touring model that was introduced in 1991 along with the updated M5 E34 sedan at the Frankfurt Auto Show.
Billed as the fastest, regular production station wagon model at the time, the M5 Touring was powered by a 3.8-liter naturally breathing inline six that was good for 335hp (340PS). BMW‘s M division hand built a total of 891 M5 Touring models from early 1992 to late 1995.
The car listed for sale is from 1993 and comes equipped with a five-speed manual gearbox (the six-speed was introduced in 1994). It has covered 66,327 miles (106,720 kilometers) and it’s priced at $34,990 (€27,800).
Photos of both models follow right below the break.
