What we have here is yet another sighting of Porsche’s 911 GT3 wearing very little camouflage. To be precise, YouTube user Dani Dominguez Mas, filmed three prototypes of the purest version of the 991 series at a gas station in the town of L’Ametlla del Vallès in Spain.
The next 911 GT3 will remain true to its (hardcore) roots with an even lighter curb weight than its predecessor, while power will come courtesy of a new high revving, normally aspirated flat six based on the 3.8-liter unit found on the 991 Carrera S delivering around 450 or more horses.
There have been reports that the specially tuned engine will drive the rear wheels through a seven-speed dual-clutch PDK automatic transmission instead of a manual gearbox, but this is something that Porsche’s people have not yet confirmed.
Look for the new 911 GT3 to make its world premiere at a major international motor show next year, possibly as early as the Geneva Salon in March.
