The Specialty Equipment Market Association show, most commonly (and conveniently) known as SEMA, that’s taking place these days in Las Vegas is the perfect venue for manufacturers to showcase pumped-up versions of their normal production cars.
Some of them eventually enter production while others remain just something for the tuning scene crowd to salivate over. Hyundai’s Veloster RE:MIX belongs to the former category, as it is much more down-to-Earth compared to some of the other versions launched at the show.
The Korean carmaker stated that it will manufacture about 2,000 units of the RE:MIX that will hit U.S. showrooms in late November or early December.
Priced at $19,900 for the manual gearbox version and $21,150 for the dual-clutch DCT, excluding a $775 destination charge, the special edition Veloster RE:MIX is claimed by Hyundai to be inspired by the successful RE:MIX Lab program, a national tour showcasing customized one-off versions of its vehicles.
It be available only in the grey color seen on the SEMA car. Its specification includes projector headlamps with LED accents and LED taillights, a body kit, dark 18-inch alloys, an interior LED light kit, “smart” key/push-button start, special floor mats, exterior badges and a 450W Dimension audio system with eight speakers and an 8-inch subwoofer.
