Another week, and instead of just another Porsche, it’s a special edition Porsche – not that you will be able to tell the difference…
This time it’s the Panamera V6 in both petrol and diesel guises that has been blessed with a Platinum Edition version packaging some exclusive but subtle styling details together with expanded standard features.
Offered as the Panamera (RWD) and Panamera 4 (AWD) with a 295hp (300PS) 3.6-liter V6 petrol and the Panamera Diesel with a 247hp (250PS) 3.0-liter V6, the special edition models feature platinum silver metallic accents on the lower half of the exterior mirrors, the air-inlet grille, the fender vents, the trim on the trunk lid and the rear diffuser.
Rounding out the exterior tweaks is the black glossy finish applied on the side window strips and the 19-inch Turbo alloy wheels.
There are five exterior colors to choose from, including black, white, metallic basalt black, metallic carbon grey and metallic mahogany lacquer.
The Platinum Edition’s interior comes with a new black and luxor beige part-leather design as standard with a full leather treatment being optional, a sport design steering wheel and “Platinum Edition” insignias on the front door trim strips.
Porsche says it has added “many frequently requested extras” as standard to the Platinum Edition. These include the Bi-Xenon main headlights, front parking assist, automatically dimming interior and exterior mirrors, Power Steering Plus as well as front seat heating, and the Porsche Communication Management (PCM) system with navigation, a 7-inch TFT touchscreen and 11 loudspeakers with a combined output of 235 watts.
In Germany, the Panamera Platinum Edition starts at €79,707, while the diesel version costs €82,206 and the Panamera 4 Platinum Edition €87,323.
Porsche has not said when and if it will offer the Platinum Edition models in other markets.
