Here’s our first glimpse of the redesigned 2014 model Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG that will make its debut alongside the rest of the facelifted E-Class family, including the regular saloons, Estate, Convertible and Coupe models, early next year with sales to follow in spring.
The common denominator of these models is the smoother and more contemporary lines of the body, something mainly achieved through the replacement of the quartet of headlights with two single units and the scraping of the “Ponton” style rear fenders rear.
Together with the newly styled headlamps, Mercedes-Benz will likely make changes to the front bumper and grille design as well as the hood, while at the back, there will be new light fixtures.
On the inside, look for some mild changes to the design and trim of the dashboard along with a fresh assortment of technological goodies.
The E63 AMG model in particular, will get a unique set of bumpers, redesigned to match the styling updates featured on the rest of the body, a new set of wheels and aero enhancements.
We don’t expect any notable upgrades under the hood with the E63 AMG to continue to be powered by a 5.5-liter bi-turbocharged V8 rated for 518-horsepower (525PS) at 5,250-5,750 rpm and 516 lb-ft (700Nm) of torque at 1,750-5,000 rpm, matched to a 7-speed AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT transmission turning the rear wheels.
