While there’s certainly no shortage of “special edition” models in the Beetle’s range, Volkswagen believes it’s what buyers want so it continues to churn out new variants.

The latest one is called the “Beetle Remix” and it just launched in Germany. What makes it special, at least in the eyes of Volkswagen’s marketing team, are some cosmetic add-ons.

In particular, the center section of the dashboard, the door panels and the applications on the three-spoke steering wheel, are executed in a high gloss “Black” or “Reflex silver” paint, depending on the exterior shade.

The same color is also applied on an exterior decorative film with the word “Beetle” or “Käfer” on the side skirts and the mirror caps.

Additional standard features found on the Remix include a leather wrap for the steering wheel, gear knob and handbrake grip, Park Pilot, cruise control system, VW’s multimedia system, air conditioning, center armrest and 17-inch alloy wheels.

In Germany, four engines are available for the special edition Beetle, including a pair of turbocharged petrol units developing 105PS (104hp) and 160PS (158hp), and two diesels with 105PS (104hp) and 138hp (140PS). Prices start from €20,250 (about US$26,300).
