On Tuesday, we shared a scoop shot of a 2014 Mercedes-Benz E-Class sedan without a single trace of camouflage that was photographed while standing under a hotel entrance in the Spanish city of Madrid.
Because of the small size of the picture, we weren’t absolutely sure about its authenticity at the time, but now that we have obtained the original, high-resolution version of the image, we can confirm that it is indeed the real deal.
Furthermore, after taking a closer look, we can say that the car seen here is the 2014 E63 AMG, as evidenced by the unique front grille with the Mercedes star in the center, the multispoke alloys with the red brake calipers, the numerous aero parts including a boot lid spoiler and the bloated front fenders with the “V8 Biturbo” badges.
As mentioned in our previous posting, Mercedes-Benz’s makeover of the E-Class series is surprisingly extensive as it stretches from the completely redone front end that among other things, replaces the quad set of lights with single headlamp units, to the abolition of the pontoon-style rear side panels, which means that even the doors were re-sculptured.
The official unveiling of the redesigned E-Class shouldn’t be too far away and may take place as early as this year.
