The first official teaser trailer for Toyota’s spanking new 2013 model RAV4 was released today together with an announcement that the compact crossover model will break cover in front of the public at the 2012 Los Angeles Auto Show, to be held from November 28 through December 9.
The only other piece of information we get, is from the description of the video that reads: “The 2013 RAV4 is a new generation rewriting the rules of style, embodying sophistication and strength – a dynamism that adapts to the changing pace of life.”
This will be the fourth incarnation of model that created the crossover segment, starting with the original RAV4 from 1994. The current model has been in production since 2005 and has received only minor updates through the years.
From what we have seen through the prototype models, the next RAV4 will edge even closer to the passenger car segment with a softer exterior look borrowing elements from Toyota’s more recent models such as the Camry and Avalon sedans, and the Auris hatchback Mk2.
If you’re not satisfied with the few details shown in the following video, we have created a rendering of what we believe the new RAV4 will look like, that you can check out for yourself by clicking here.
