Porsche will push the covers off its brand new, second-generation Cayman at the Los Angeles Auto Show later today, but if you’re in the mood for some official imagery ahead of the unveiling, here are three high-resolution pictures of the coupe.

There’s no hiding the fact that the new Cayman is the hardtop sibling of the fourth-gen Boxster roadster (981) revealed in the beginning of 2012. The same, of course, holds true for the outgoing model, only this time, Porsche’s designers seem to have done a much better job in integrating the roof onto the Boxster’s body.

The sleeker looking new Cayman also sports a redesigned front bumper and a reworked boot lid, but other than that, it’s the same car as the roadster.

Yesterday, we learned from a leaked French magazine cover that the new Cayman will continue to be available in two trims.

The base model is fitted with a 2.7-liter flat six producing 275hp or 10hp more than it does on the Boxster, and the ‘S’ variant powered by a 3.4.liter boxer engine with 325hp, again, a 10hp increase over its roadster counterpart.

Full details will be released later today.
