So we hear that a select few of our readers [cough, cough] kind of missed seeing Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond in the original Top Gear television series after Simon Cowell and his X-Factor clan forced the BBC to move season 19 to February 2013.
Perhaps we can temporarily fill the void with two fresh videos of the Top Gear gang, the first of which is a 4-minute long teaser of an all-new, never before seen on TV special titled “Top Gear: The Worst Car in the History of the World” that will be released on DVD, Blu-Ray and digital download on Monday, November 19, 2012.
Here’s how Top Gear describes the 73-minutes long special:
“Everyone has an opinion on bad cars… now it’s time to hear the ones that really count – ours… As it’s the worst car in the history of the WORLD, we’re on our travels … to the North of England … to name and shame the most rubbish car from a manufacturer which, frankly, should have known better.”
“But, it’s not all about hateful cars … Oh no. You have to revel in some good ones to appreciate the stinkers. There’s the Ferrari 458 spider, Toyota’s GT86 and the £340,000 Lexus LFA rubbing shoulders with a Mercedes SLS.”
Naturally, you will have to buy the disc (or have a friend loan it to you) to learn which car came in last. On Amazon UK, at least, the Top Gear special is priced at £13.75 (equal to US$22.2 / €17.1) for the DVD and £17.00 (US$27.4 / €21.2) for the higher quality Blu-Ray edition.
The second video we discovered features Jeremy Clarkson and James May interviewing a one Jussi Heikelä for the job as the third presenter in Top Gear Live Finland.
Drive your mouse through the break to watch both clips and then head over to the comments to tell us which car you think Top Gear chose as the worst in the history of the world.
