Hyundai Shows Final Production Version of 6 and 7 Passenger 2013 Santa Fe in L.A. [Photos & Video]

We doubt anyone noticed it, but the three row, long-wheelbase 2013 Santa Fe displayed next to the five-seat 2013 Santa Fe Sport at the New York International Auto Show in April was a prototype. The more spacious Santa Fe model is making its world premiere in final production trim at the Los Angeles Auto Show today.

The larger Santa Fe rides on a 110.2-inch wheelbase, which is 3.9 inches longer than the Sport’s models wheelbase, while its overall length of 193.1 inches is 8.5 inches longer, its 74.2-inch width 0.2 inches wider and its height of 66.5 inches surpasses the Sport by 0.4 inches.

What these numbers translate to is the addition of a third row of seats. In particular, Hyundai offers two seating options, for seven passenger with 40:20:40 split folding second row bench seat or six passenger seating with second row captain’s chairs.

According to Hyundai, the three-row Santa Fe’s cargo volume is 40.9 cubic feet behind the second row seats and 13.5 cubic feet behind the third row seats.

Compared to the regular wheelbase Sport model, the three-row Santa Fe increases second-row legroom by 1.9 inches and cargo capacity 5.5 cubic feet, while also featuring standard rear-passenger HVAC controls and vents.

Whereas the interior design remains the same on the two Santa Fe models, the three-row version features a differentiated profile from the B-pillar back, a new grille design and bespoke 18-inch Euroflange alloy wheels.

The only engine available on the larger Santa Fe is Hyundai’s 3.3-liter V6 producing 290-horsepower and 252 lb-ft of peak torque linked to a standard six-speed automatic and optionally, all-wheel drive. The Santa Fe V6 has a tow rating of up to 5,000 pounds.

Pricing has not yet been announced.
