The story of the facelifted 2014 Mercedes-Benz E-Class family of models is slowly starting to unfold with the Stuttgart-based premium carmaker dropping the first of what we assume to be a series of official teaser videos before the new model launches at the Detroit auto show in January.
In a video that’s less than a minute long, the brand with the star gives us a close up of the 2014 E-Class’ new individual headlamp units that replace the current model’s quad arrangement.
The clip ends with a quote from famed American designer, Charles Ormond Eames that reads: “The details are not the details. They make the design”.
Along with the reshaped headlamps, all E-Class body styles will feature a redesigned fascia, including the grille, bumper and hood, and some less noticeable changes to the rear end, while the sedan will also lose the sculptured rear fenders.
