It’s only a matter of days now before Volkswagen begins deliveries of its seventh generation Golf that will arrive in German dealerships on Saturday, November 10, with the market launch in other European countries to follow in the coming weeks.
The automaker said that to date, it has recorded more than 40,000 pre-orders across Europe for the new Golf, which is the same number achieved by Mercedes-Benz for its latest A-Class hatchback back in the summer.
To celebrate the car’s launch in Germany, the Wolfsburg automaker’s dealers in the country will be open during the weekend offering consumers the opportunity to test drive the Golf while also hosting several special events with live music, various children’s activities and a presentation of the previous generation Golfs.
In its home market, the seventh edition of VW’s bestseller will offer buyers a choice of four gasoline engines (86PS/85hp to 140PS/138hp) and two diesels (105PS/103hp and 150PS/148hp) with prices starting from €16,975 (equal to U$21,700).
Volkswagen has not yet announced a North American sales date for the new Golf as it has still to decide in which factory it will be built, but it has been said that it won’t arrive before the end of 2014 the earliest.
