The Blue Oval has announced that U.S. sales of its Ford brand will surpass the 2.2 million mark in the year that ends today, adding that it has three vehicle nameplates in the global top 10, according to the latest vehicle registration data from research firm Polk.
This is the second year in a row that the Ford sells more than 2 million vehicles in the States, the only brand to do so since 2007.
Ford stated that the Focus is on track to become this year’s best-selling global nameplate with new registrations totaling 737,856 through September, according to Polk’s data, adding that the Fiesta is on pace to be this year’s best-selling global B-Car with 560,061 global deliveries for the same period.
“Focus and Fiesta represent the best of our One Ford plan,” said Jim Farley, Ford’s executive vice president, Global Marketing, Sales and Service and Lincoln.
Aside from the Focus that is currently ranked as No. 1 and the Fiesta No. 5, according to Polk, Ford’s F-Series is the world’s 4th bestselling vehicle nameplate.
