On just the second day of 2013, Citroën released a new special edition version of its DS3 premium supermini for the UK market aptly named “Red”.
The new DS3 Red models are based on the existing DStyle and DSport trim levels, adding bespoke styling cues and extra equipment features to the mix with on-the-road prices ranging from £15,655 to £18,060.
Available in a standard Polar White paint or in the optional £480 Perla Nera Black body colour, all DS3 Red models come with a touch of red accents both inside and out, including the grille surround, roof, mirrors, alloy wheel caps, dashboard and door handles.
Furthermore, the exterior finish is matched with white or black 16-inch ‘Ashera’ alloy wheels on DStyle Red models and white or black 17-inch ‘Bellone’ alloys on DSport Red variants.
Additional standard features include Citroën’s ‘Connect Signature’ pack, with Bluetooth and USB connectivity, plus an enhanced Hi-Fi system and extra speakers for the DS3 Style models, while the DSport gains the ‘City Signature’ package with automatic headlights and wipers, rear parking sensors, electric heated and folding door mirrors, an electrochrome rear view mirror, interior mood lighting and a front central armrest.
The DS3 DStyle Red is offered with a choice of two engines, a VTi 120 petrol engine or an e-HDi 90 Airdream diesel engine, while the DSport Red is powered by a THP 155 petrol engine connected to a 6-speed manual, or an e-HDi 115 Airdream diesel, with the same transmission.
