A fairly new tuning company from Germany called WRAPworks has presented a fresh take on the pre-facelift W216 Mercedes-Benz CL500.
It’s first job was to foil wrap the luxury coupe in a matte white film with acid green accents and stripes on the hood, roof, profile, boot, mirror caps and the rear apron, while also replacing the star on the bonnet with a custom logo.
The head and tail lamps were also slightly tinted with special films, with the final cosmetic touch coming through the addition of new 21-inch alloy wheels from Mercedes-Benz tuner Lorinser mounted in tires size 255/30 R21 on the front axle and 285/30 R21 on the rear axle.
As far as performance is concerned, WRAPworks fabricated its own custom exhaust system and tweaked the ECU lifting the CL500’s V8 output from 382hp (387PS) and 530Nm (391 lb-ft) to 404hp (410PS) and 550Nm (406 lb-ft). With the removal of the electronic speed limiter, the CL500 can now reach a top speed of 280km/h (174mph).
According to WRAPworks, the foil wrapping is priced at €2,850 (US$3,780 at today’s exchange rates), while the performance tune at €1,200 (US$1,592).
