When Mini has free time on its hands, it tends to get creative with its current portfolio designing special edition models like the new Clubman Bond Street, which was revealed today in advance of its world premiere at the Geneva Auto Salon in early March.
The new Mini Clubman has nothing to do with Britain’s most famous fictional secret service agent; instead, it is named after one of London’s most exclusive shopping streets.
Meant to appeal to the more style-conscious customers, the limited edition Clubman Bond Street starts with the ‘Midnight Black’ metallic paintwork contrasted by the Cool Champagne color for the roof, exterior mirror caps, lower sections of the C-pillars and bonnet stripes, while it rides on exclusive twin-spoke 17-inch alloys with Cool Champagne-colored center rings.
Furthermore, the side indicator surrounds and door sill strips both display ‘Bond Street’ lettering.
Stepping into the cabin, you will find the same color theme with leather sports seats in Carbon Black with piping and stitching in Deep Champagne, and a leather-covered instrument panel in Black/Carbon Black with Deep Champagne trims.
There’s also leather trim for the armrests with contrast stitching in Deep Champagne, floor mats with black piping and contrast stitching likewise in Deep Champagne, and the Chrome Line Interior package.
Mini made sure the limited edition is appropriately equipped with standard features including climate control, an onboard computer, the Sport Button, a rain sensor with automatic headlamp activation, and a leather steering wheel with multifunction buttons and cruise control.
The new Mini model will go on sale worldwide in March 2013 with the U.S. range to include the 121hp Cooper and the 181hp Cooper S, both offered as standard with a six-speed manual gearbox, and a six-speed automatic as an option.
In addition to the Bond Street model, Mini has updated the color palette of the limited edition Clubman Hyde Park that is now available with a combination of Pepper White exterior paintwork and the new contrast color Cool Champagne.
