Land Rover has just announced that it will be revealing the all-new Range Rover Sport just before the 2013 New York Auto Show. They say it is “the fastest, most responsive and agile vehicle” they’ve made so far, so we are quite curious as to what we are left with when the wraps do come off.
The exact launch date is March 26, and if you can’t quite find the time to go to New York to check it out, they will be broadcasting the launch event live, on a specially-created official site.
If you’re wondering what this new Sport brings about, you’ll be happy to know that it uses the same aluminum construction as the regular new Range, so it will be considerably lighter than its predecessor.
From the outside, it will get more aggressive styling at the front, as well as a redesigned rear end with a shorter overhang. The windscreen will also be more steeply-raked, to improve aerodynamics and its sporting appeal. The interior will be pretty much carried over from the standard Range Rover, yet it should feature some unique touches, as well as a lower driving position.
The launch venue will also get a live drive through Manhattan, New York. They say that the area was chosen because more of their vehicles are sold in Manhattan, than in any other metropolitan area in the world, so it was a natural pick.
