Designer John Varvatos and Detroit-rocker Iggy Pop are the stars of Chrysler’s new “Unboxing” commercial for the 300C John Varvatos Limited Edition that will arrive in dealerships this spring.
The 30-second spot shows the fashion designer taking delivery of the first of a total of 2,000 examples of the 300C John Varvatos Limited Edition models that will be produced. Varvatos then jumps in the car that bears his name along with a surprise passenger, Iggy Pop, who makes a cameo appearance in the commercial.
“It is a very special and personal automobile that has so many great design details and features. Having my friend Iggy Pop join me in my new commercial just made it even sweeter,” said Varvatos about the ad that will air on national and cable networks.
The 2013 Chrysler 300C John Varvatos Limited Edition has a unique Phantom Black tri-coat exterior paint and discrete metallic finishes, both inside and out. The car has Titanium-finished grille surround, Titanium Chrome Chrysler “wing” badge and Black Chrome grille blades styled after the black with Titanium-finished John Varvatos’ cologne bottle.
The front fascia is more aggressively styled with larger air inlets than regular 300C models. Matching the ‘cologne bottle’ finish are new 20-inch alloy wheels, day light opening surrounds and mirror caps finished in titanium. At the rear, smoked rear LED lamps, dual-exhaust tips in titanium and John Varvatos badges complete the look.
On the inside, the limited edition sports ‘Pewter Metallic’ leather seats tailored with unique Diesel Gray and black pattern Varvatos stitching and logos, gauge cluster and clock with Pearlescent White face and Charcoal Black Metallic bezels, a hand-stitched heated steering wheel with Diesel Gray thread and Titanium Chrome accents, plus wood and gloss black trims.
